On August 29, 2023, following consultations with the Comprehensive Supervision Division of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, the Beijing Society of Health Law convened a meeting to address the issues existing in the management and supervision of domestic drinking water in Beijing.

A site visit and study were conducted at the equipment exhibition hall of Water Technology Co., Ltd., providing an overview of the current status of domestic drinking water applications and technological developments nationwide.
In the morning, directors, section chiefs, and key professionals in charge of sanitary supervision of domestic drinking water from the health and wellness supervision institutes of various districts in Beijing, as well as members of the Board of Directors of the Beijing Society of Health Law, and representatives from the Inspection and Testing Group were present.
Relevant leaders of the limited company, accompanied by Ms. Zhao Xiuying, Chairperson of Beijing Huaxia Yuanjie Water Technology Co., Ltd., carefully listened to General Manager Liu Fang’s briefing on the company’s development history and its technologies.
The exhibition featured advantages and other display content, and visitors also toured the equipment model room and exhibition hall.

In the afternoon, He Jialong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Society of Health Law and Chairman of its Special Committee on Health Supervision, chaired the “2023 Symposium on Safe Drinking Water and Water Treatment Management in Medical Institutions.”
The meeting was held in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation. Li Yi, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Supervision Division of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, along with the coordinators responsible for the self-regulatory system for lawful practice at medical institutions in our city, attended the meeting online.
The meeting commenced with Chairwoman Zhao Xiuying, founder of Beijing Huaxia Yuanjie Water Technology Co., Ltd., providing a detailed overview of the development of international technologies for the safe treatment of domestic drinking water and the nationwide purification of domestic drinking water.

The processes and their functions enable attendees to gain a deeper understanding of how Yuanjie Equipment can better ensure the safety of public water supplies and further enhance water quality.
Subsequently, relevant personnel from the health and wellness supervision agencies of each district in Beijing presented an overview of the current status of domestic drinking water in their respective districts, shared their experiences in supervision and management, and outlined the challenges they face in their work. Through the discussions among the attendees,
Communication and exchange have enhanced mutual understanding, leading to greater consensus and the adoption of best practices. With the socio-economic development of Beijing, the monitoring of domestic drinking water distributed across various districts has been rapidly strengthened by the relevant regulatory authorities.
Moreover, the sheer number and wide distribution of issues, coupled with insufficient staffing—particularly in older residential communities where certain problems cannot be resolved in the short term—severely impact residents’ daily needs and have become a major focus of public complaints.
During the seminar, all districts actively participated in the discussion and proposed strengthening water-quality monitoring efforts and optimizing the spatial distribution of monitoring stations to ensure the safety of residents’ drinking water.
Finally, Li Yang, Vice President of the Beijing Society of Health Law, who attended the entire conference, on behalf of the Beijing Municipal Health and Health Supervision Institute, presented a report on the progress of implementing the 2022 “One-Map” health supervision system.
A briefing and commentary were provided, followed by a summary of the seminar.
The seminar brought together both seasoned veterans with extensive work experience and newly recruited staff who have just joined the health and wellness supervision system. This meeting will serve as a foundation for the next phase of work by the Beijing Society of Health Law and its Special Committee on Health Supervision.
This has broadened our thinking and provided more valuable insights for the Society’s academic research. We hope everyone will continue to strive hard and remain steadfast in their commitment to this cause!
